Stu Pospisil
Honored in 2014
Stu Pospisil is a longtime Omaha World-Herald sportswriter who has covered golf for the newspaper for nearly 30 years.
He has chronicled Nebraska golf on all levels, including the 2013 U.S. Senior Open and 1996 U.S. Women's Amateur, the Cox Classic, the Masters and PGA Championships and countless state and local events. Since 1988, he has been the director of The World-Herald Publinks match play Championship for Omaha area golfers. He co-founded the Metro Omaha Golf Championship in 1998.
The Omaha native, who graduated from Omaha Benson in 1980 and the University of Nebraska in 1984, has been a contributor to Sports Illustrated, Golf Journal and Golf World. He has been on The World-Herald's sports staff since 1984 and has been its High School sports editor since 1990.
Stu has been honored by the Nebraska PGA, Nebraska School Activities Association, Nebraska Coaches Association, Nebraska State Athletic Administrators Association and the Metro Omaha Golf Championship and is in the Bension High Hall of Fame. He has assisted the Nebraska Golf Hall of Fame since 2000 with its banquet program.
