Randy Jensen

Randy Jensen is known worldwide for his impact on hickory golf as a player and a promoter.

Among his more than 70 victories with vintage clubs are eight National Hickory Championships, seven Golf Collectors Society World Hickory Championships, two Scottish Hickory Championship and the 2004 Canadian Hickory Championship.

A 1973 graduate of Omaha Creighton Prep, he played golf at Creighton University, graduating in 1977.

After dabbling in filmmaking, Randy opened the Classic Golf equipment store in 1986 and operated it for a quarter-century. In the mid-1990s, he caught hickory fever through his membership in the Golf Collectors Society. The “Tiger Woods of Hickory Golf,” as a national golf writer dubbed him, dominated vintage-club competition around the world for a decade.

He was a founding member of the Society of Hickory Golfers in 2002 and was a regional director for the Golf Collectors So iety. He authored “Playing Hickory Golf” (2008).

Randy won three World-Herald Publinks Championships and qualified for the 1988 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship.
