Laura Saf

Laura Saf is a longtime United States Golf Association committee member who has officiated at more than 40 USGA championships.
Her association with the USGA stemmed from her role as host club general chairman for the 1996 U.S. Women's Amateur at Firethorn. She served on the Women's Regional Affairs Committee from 1997 to 2003, then on the Regional Affairs Committee, and was on the Women's Committee from 2001 to 2011. On the Women's Mid-Amateur Championship Committee from 1998 to 2001, she was vice-chairman of the Women’s Mid-Amateur in 2007 and its chairman for the next four years.
She has been a rules official at more than 40 USGA championships in 28 states (including two U.S. Opens and 15 U.S. Women's Opens) and at the 2010 British Women's Open, and has officiated at countless USGA qualifiers and college, high school and state association events.
The native of Oakland, Neb., a graduate of Lindenwood University, was the first woman on the Nebraska Golf Association board and was tournament director for the Nebraska Women's Amateur Golf Association form 2004 to 2009. She served on the Women's Trans National executive board from 1997 to 2002.
Laura has won club championships at Southwind in Garden City, Kan. , and Firethorn; with two NWAGA four-ball championships and three NWAGA scramble titles. She is in the Chip-N Club Hall of Fame and in 2007 received the Jean Marshall Award from the Country Club of Lincoln.
