Darrell Vonnahme
Honored in 1993
Darrell Vonnahme was a driving force behind the establishment of the Nebraska Golf Hall of Fame and the president of the organization during the first two years of its existence.
His untimely death came on April 20. 1994, less than a month before this banquet a year ago. His many contributions to the Hall of Fame earned Darrell the eternal gratitude of all its members.
In addition to his devotion to the Nebraska Golf Hall of Fame. Vonnahme served two years as President of the Nebraska Golf Association (1992-93) following six years of service on the associations Board of Directors
(1986-'91).
Because of his many behind-the-scenes contributions to the game of golf Darrell was honored as the 1993 recipient of the Dr. Herbert H. Davis Memorial Award.
Following Vonnahme's death, the Nebraska Golf Association Board of Directors established a permanent memorial in his name in the NGA Scholarship Fund and renamed one of its annual statewide Championships, 'The Darrell
Vonnahme Memorial Two-man Tournament".
Darrell is survived by his wife Mikki, who will accept his Special Recognition Award tonight; daughters Gayle McKelvey and Nancy Kirk; sons Gregg, Rex and Gary; and nine grandchlldren.
