Orville is well known in golf circles all over the United States. The owner of Scott Manufacturing Company in Omaha, his promotion and support for golf takes many forms.
The 1976 president of the Nebraska Golf Association. Orville has served on the rules committee for all but three of the USGA national senior championships since 1977. (He couldn't in 1978 because he was the Nebraska qualifier when it was played at Cherry Hills in Denver.) several young golf professionals, who are now head pros in the state. His many benefactors are quick to express their admiration for what Orville A. Olson, Jr. has done to enrich golf in Nebraska through his involvement and contributions.
