Mary Walley

Mary Walley has always been an extremely active contributor to the betterment of amateur golf in her native state. Currently the Chairman of the Hastings City Golf Committee her immediate goal is to organize a city championship for women.

As chairman and board member of the Central Nebraska Women's Golf Association in 1970, Mary joined the board of directors of the Nebraska Women's State Golf Association in 1971 and 72. becoming President of that organization in 1973.

In that capacity. she was instrumental in the formation of the Nebraska Women's Amateur Golf Association and was president of NWAGA from 1974-76.

The ever-active Mrs. Walley was Nebraska's representative to the Women's Trans National Golf Association in 1976; a member of the Trans National's board of directors from 1977 to 1986 and served as President of the board in 1983 and '84.

Mary, who has been a resident of Hastings since 1940. is the only woman to have served as president of the Lochland Country Club.

Her husband Gerald is deceased, while her son James lives in New York City.
